Rev. Troy C Underwood’s passion is fueled by helping others. He is an inspirational leader who believes that privileging the underprivileged creates opportunities for them to flourish. He is intuitively able to inspire action and bring people together while at the same time being grounded in organizational development. As an ordained minister, his advocacy work in Covenant’s food pantry became motivation to address other issues of justice and mercy in his community.
Rev. Troy is an Associate Pastor at Covenant United Church of Christ. He also serves as the Executive Director of their affiliate not-for-profit the Barbara W. Smith Family Life Center where he is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization, as well as fundraising, marketing, and community outreach.
Rev. Troy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College, a Master of Divinity Degree from Chicago Theological Seminary, and is completing a Doctor of Ministry degree in McCormick Theological Seminary’s Prophetic Leaders program.
Rev. Troy is the husband of Katherine Underwood, bonus father to Zecilia Ann Harris, and grandfather to Zaire Anthony Harris.
